Scottsdale, FBR Open Great scores on a great course. Rookie Glover leads. Cardinals in the Superbowl. What a weekend for us in Arizona.

Lucas Glover won an important title in the Valley as a Nationwide Tour golfer, but taking the FBR Open would mean even more.

Glover shot 6-under 65 Thursday at TPC Scottsdale to take a share of the first-round lead on a day when many of the top names in the PGA Tour event struggled to find the leader board.

James Nitties, a PGA Tour rookie from Australia, also carded a 65. Charley Hoffman and former University of Arizona star David Berganio Jr. shot 66. http://www.fbropen.com/WhatsNew.asp

Cue the music and give us steep steps to climb - a Rocky moment is building for Super Bowl XLIII.

The Arizona Cardinals entered the playoffs channeling the likes of Rodney Dangerfield, who got no respect. Las Vegas bookies placed 40-1 odds on the Cardinals winning the Super Bowl.

But much like last year's New York Giants or an upstart, first-term senator announcing two years ago that he would run for president, the Cards have proved one thing: Never rule out the little guy. http://www.azcentral.com/sports/cardinals/articles/2009/01/29/20090129SB-underdogs0129-CP.html#comments

Wow, what a great weekend, especially if you are from Arizona.
